Yes. Many of our therapists have extensive experience working with children and adolescents, as well as collaborating with parents and schools to support each child’s emotional well-being. We help young clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, behavioral changes, academic stress, and family transitions in a safe, encouraging environment. If a child’s parents or guardians are divorced or separated, we require a copy of the divorce decree or custody agreement before beginning therapy. This ensures that we follow proper legal and ethical procedures and that both guardians’ rights and responsibilities are respected throughout the counseling process.

Gardenia Counseling may pause or suspend therapy services for minor clients when there is an active or ongoing court case involving the child or family (such as custody disputes or other legal proceedings). This policy helps protect the therapeutic process and avoid conflicts between clinical care and legal matters. Families may request referrals to other practices that continue treatment for minors during open legal cases. Services at Gardenia Counseling may be reconsidered once the legal matter has been resolved.
