About Gardenia CounselingAppointments & SchedulingInsurance & FeesTherapy ProcessSpecialties & ApproachOther Questions
What if I’m in crisis or need immediate help?
We are not a crisis center. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent help, please call or text 988 or go to your nearest emergency room. You can also contact the Harris County Crisis Line at (713) 970-7000.
Do you provide documentation for work or school?
We can provide basic attendance letters upon request. Emotional support animal (ESA) letters or disability documentation are provided only when clinically appropriate and within professional guidelines.
What’s the best way to contact my therapist?
The most secure way to reach your therapist is through the client portal’s messaging system. For scheduling or general questions, you can email diana@gardenia.health.
Do you see minors?
Yes. Many of our therapists have extensive experience working with children and adolescents, as well as collaborating with parents and schools to support each child’s emotional well-being. We help young clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, behavioral changes, academic stress, and family transitions in a safe, encouraging environment.
If a child’s parents or guardians are divorced or separated, we require a copy of the divorce decree or custody agreement before beginning therapy. This ensures that we follow proper legal and ethical procedures and that both guardians’ rights and responsibilities are respected throughout the counseling process.
Does Gardenia Counseling see minors during open court cases?
Gardenia Counseling may pause or suspend therapy services for minor clients when there is an active or ongoing court case involving the child or family (such as custody disputes or other legal proceedings). This policy helps protect the therapeutic process and avoid conflicts between clinical care and legal matters.
Families may request referrals to other practices that continue treatment for minors during open legal cases. Services at Gardenia Counseling may be reconsidered once the legal matter has been resolved.
